Get to Know: Elk Haven Estate
Quite awhile back, I asked Maddie, the venue manager at Elk Haven Estate, to answer some interview questions for me because I have just been dying to share this gorgeous venue with you all! Well, I am finally getting around to posting that interview on the blog. Please read below all about this dream vineyard venue and everything it has to offer your next great event!
Tell me about how the venue got its name & start, and where it is located.
Elk Haven Estate is a wedding venue and vineyard that is located in Worley, Idaho, just 9 miles from the Coeur D’Alene Resort and Casino. We are a newer venue that opened August 2021. The vineyard started about four years ago, and then the venue building was built originally as a barrel room and distillery. It was then realized the beauty of this property could be used to help couples celebrate their wedding day and the venue officially opened for events late last year.
Elk Haven Estate got its name because over the hill, behind the property, there are actually about 100 Elk that live there. You won’t see them on this side of the hill very much, but the elk did give our wonderful venue its name.
What is included in the wedding & event package?
When you book with Elk Haven you get access to the venue from 10am to 10pm on the day of your event. That includes access to the amazing reception space, outside patios and lawns. You get access to the beautiful bridal suite and the groom’s cabin which both have porches featuring sweeping views of the vineyard. You also get access to the vineyard for photos!
We do require a professional day of coordinator to help your wedding day run smoothly, as well as day of event insurance. You can hire any caterer you would like as long as they licensed. We work with Greenbriar Catering for our bar services. They are wonderful professional bartenders and will serve Elk Haven wine during your special day as well as your other favorite drinks of choice.
What is some hotel & transportation accommodations you recommend near the venue?
We have a great partnership with the Coeur D’Alene Resort and Casino which is only 9 miles away from our venue. They can provide blocks of rooms for you and your guests as well as a shuttle to and from Elk Haven on your wedding day!
What is your favorite part of the venue and/or what do you think is most unique about the venue, as the venue manager?
Other than the absolutely stunning location of Elk Haven Estate, my favorite thing about the venue is that we have accordion style doors in the event space that can be fully opened or closed. When fully opened they give guests that outside feel while being covered inside. It gives the reception space a really nice flow from the reception hall to the wrap around patio. I love that there are options for an inside or outside, or both, event! Also, I’m absolutely obsessed with the makeup counter in the bridal suite!
When it comes to wedding design, what is your favorite trend that you believe showcases the best of what Elk Haven has to offer?
I think that Elk Haven Estate is the epitome of rustic chic. As a new venue we have a lot of modern elements while still having a down to earth and homey feel.
To engaged couples who are just starting to research wedding venues, what is something you stress upon or think they should ask as they are touring multiple sites?
I know it can be so stressful and overwhelming at the beginning of your wedding venue search. There are so many things to consider, like price-point, location, vendor choices, etc. I think the most important thing to consider though, is how you feel at a venue. Can you actually picture yourself getting married there? Does it feel right? The rest will fall in to place once you find a place that you love.
